Beyond Land's View

Snapper Banks

How comfortable we can become, living  within the familiarness that determines our day and defines our surroundings.  With most of our time, we spend our minute and hours accomplishing tasks and adhering to the routine and daily schedules.  We move about in an orderly existence.  But, if given the chance, if the opportunity should come forth and allow us to set sail, hosting anchor, ropes untied, and settle ourselves on the pointed bow of a dipping and wave running boat, would we not go?  Before too long, one would be beyond land's view, and the world about and the world within would dramatically change.
It is a soulful thrill to be able to look about, from all sides of each compass point, and see no land in sight, nothing in view but water and waves, waves and water.  It can  be a feeling of complete loneliness or a surge of complete wholeness.  This water surrounded view can open the reality of all that is so unknown or the unknowing of things to come.  The thought is also tempered with the contemplation of the mystery and the gladness of not knowing all.
