Sea Dreams

Sea Dreams

I dream and thought of the place I wanted to be.
The splashing of the waves equaled the restless inside of me.
I strained as I watched the birds fly by
That by chance I would see a sea gull in the sky.
I picture the sight of never ending waves,
And my mind became misty in a salt spray daze.
The city noises around became sounds of barges and boats.
Among the swaying grass, I thought of slender sea oats.
I longed for the feel of the sand, and tiny colored shells
The moving clouds above formed a tide of ocean and swells.
And all around, the wind seem to be calling to me,
Whispering, whispering me home to the gulf and sea.
